Hello everyone,

Our journey commenced in 2015 when my husband and I, after a year of courtship, chose to unite in matrimony with the shared aspiration of expanding our family. With my husband already a father to an older son, we eagerly anticipated the prospect of welcoming a child of our own. Despite concerted efforts, our attempts to conceive proved unsuccessful, prompting us to seek guidance from a fertility specialist.
Following extensive assessments of both my husband and myself, it was determined that while there were no concerns with my husband’s fertility, I received the diagnosis of Unexplained Infertility—a perplexing condition wherein conventional fertility evaluations yield no discernible cause for a couple’s infertility. This diagnosis left us grappling with uncertainty and faced with tough decisions regarding the path forward in our quest to build a family.
Exploring various treatment avenues such as Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), lifestyle adjustments, and fertility medications became integral to our journey. Despite our persistence and numerous attempts, including experiences with Clomid, IUI, and IVF, setbacks persisted, including an ectopic pregnancy and the subsequent diagnosis of scar tissue leading to Asherman’s syndrome.
Enduring a year of consecutive surgeries to address the recurring scar tissue, I remained steadfast in my determination to conceive naturally. However, despite our unwavering resolve, medical counsel eventually led us to a crossroads where the options were limited to one final surgery or pursuing the surrogate route.
Seeking further guidance and validation, we sought a second opinion, holding onto the hope of achieving our dream independently. However, it became clear that utilizing a surrogate was the optimal path forward given the challenges posed by the scar tissue.
And so, it is with a mixture of hope, gratitude, and resolve that my husband and I find ourselves on the threshold of our surrogacy journey. We embark on this path with unwavering determination and the profound belief that with the support of our community, we can overcome the hurdles and realize our dream of parenthood.
